I just don't think much has happened with the Realtouch. The people that have one are likely using it between malfunctions, but there isn't much reason to come here unless something important is happening, and it isn't.

RE: where are all those promised partners? sell us the software
Mine is working great. I have had no huge problems for the first year. I enjoy it and plan to keep useing it. As far as a crack goes, If you want it to fail and also make it close to imposable for a product to come to market, then crack it. Why should investors spend capital just to lose an investment? I have no problem with paying for a good product. The way it is presented at this point allows RT to back up the product and give the great service they have. If you can’t afford the costs at this point then don’t buy it, wait until it comes down in cost as it will in the future. I think they are doing just fine at the moment. A hack to just make the machine move is child’s play. To get it to sync with the film takes a little more work. To try and grab the command stream is even harder at the moment since it has to talk back to the RT server. If it was easy, one of the many geeks who own one would have made it possible. We all have the right to buy or not. I am getting bored with the same threads on this subject over and over. Keep up the good work RT, whatever you need to do to keep R&D and the company going I am in favor of it.

Yeah it has been quiet amongst the realtouch community. Although because it is owned by AEBN which is a larger conglomerate. The RT could be done in such a way that most of the costs are variable and as such if they are not selling physical units or minutes the company isn't really losing that much money. And if they are selling minutes and videos for the RT then it is financially advantageous to keep making more.

RE: where are all those promised partners? sell us the software
there never will be partnerships, as AEBN wouldn 't share the haptic info with others.
also notice, there are not many new movies launched... isn't that strange? think they have some serious problems. & we could expect the end of the realtouch stuff very very soon! |

You'd be surprised what is ahead for the Real Touch, it certainly won't be going away any time soon, if it's going anywhere, that direction is up. "notice, there are not many new movies launched..." As we've stated before each scene can take upwards of 8hours to encode. I sat in, encoding a 8minute long track some time ago, and it took 5 hours to encode a track of only that length. Some of our scenes are anywhere from 12-20 minutes in length. Videos are often added on a bi-weekly basis, but there has not been a week where we have not launched a single video so I'm not sure what you're referring to when you say not many new movies are launched. In terms of the future of the Real Touch, I can't go into detail for obvious reasons, all I can say, is that the future is bright, and that the way you know Real Touch now, may be different in the coming months. |

RE: where are all those promised partners? sell us the software
can 't you better create a community...
where people could share there own vids for the realtouch! then there will be 10000000 of vids available. & more sells of the unit. (that first should be fixed to, still to many risk/problems for rust on the motor units) |

Maybe I should get a job with realtouch. Other than breaking their product every 4-5 months or so. I really do think they have something great.
