Met the Rocket Man and staff at A.E.E
I was working the AEE show and was happy to get a chance to visit the RealTouch booth. By pure accident walked up to the Rocket Man, Marketing Staff, and Hypatic Encoder who looked like he texts. lol sorry. He is a nice guy and very into his product. I cannot say enough on their interest to help me with the very few problems that I had. I have found the same in the support staff online. I know now that the great attitude is drifting down..... from the top. Rocket Man seemed modest and wanting to learn what people think and what suggestions they may have. He asked about likes and dislikes, and what I felt could be improved. He and his staff listened and gave ideas to improve the performance.

The whole staff seemed to be right on top of it. Many condos to Realtouch. I wish you continued success. Oh by the way, when are you going public? I would like to by a few shares.

Is haptic_encoder the NASA engineer guy, or is that who you mean by 'Rocket Man'? I would have loved to have attended the AEE. What did you guys think of the robot woman Roxxxy?

Has RealTouch got any plans regarding 3D movies Haptic? I think RealTouch would be perfect for 3D.

When I say Rocket Man I mean the inventor of the RealTouch. H.Encoder works for RealTouch and is a great fourm contact person. He has been a big help to alot of us here, answering questions and giving help with problems. He seemed to be the busiest the show. (workaholic).
Sorry I missed your Roxxy Qestion.
Roxxy was interesting. She isnt as nice looking as a Real Doll, but Real Dolls don't do anything but lay there. Roxxy is still a few years away in my opinion. She is still in development plainly seen. I guess she costs around 9 to 10 thousand from what I heard. There are many video posts on youtube.com. Just a personal view, they should have spent a little more on some theatrical value to make Roxxy look better for presentation.

Yes, HapticCoder is helpful, although I would like him to say something about the affiliate program.

From the pictures and videos I saw Roxxxy looked VERY dissapointing. However, when I learnt of some aspects of the idea, such as that her personality and functions can be improved by the community of owners via open source programming and wifi...then that's really interesting.

Hopefully it will be a success and sex robot technology will rapidly improve. To be honest, if she can sell and make a profit, then other companies will quickly become interested and begin producing superior models.

I still don't understand why she is so unattractive though. I assumed that it was because her head was full of wires and metal to enable facial expressions and sophisticated voice, but I read that she just has a little audio device in there which emits speech and I don't think her face moves at all.

Regarding RealTouch at the AEE I was interested to read that a representative was talking about AEBN bringing out a 'non porn' haptic technology product this year.

I read where the guy who invented Roxxxy only did it as a kind of promotional stunt to promote his software for the non porn side of things. While he will be selling some his main goal is to do something main stream.

RE: Met the Rocket Man and staff at A.E.E
heh. I was really wondering what the hell Roxxxy did cuz I just could not figure it out! I keep seeing footage of the world's first sex robot like its big news and the doll just sits there (and doesn't look half as nice as RealDoll) and I keep expecting to see some sort of abilities demo... I dunno, for me, I don't think without a true AI or without capability of REAL mobility (IE moving around at least approaching human abilities), focusing on "personality" makes sense. I'd rather have RealTouch where the personality of porn stars comes through than something like that. Or for that matter a really hot sex doll that does nothing and I can daydream it. Once there's real AI and something like the holographic companion in 6th Day (I think that was the movie), then *that'll* be something appealing, but until then...why would I want to TALK to this thing? =oP I dunno...maybe it's just me.

P.S. Oh and just for the record, I've always wanted a talking computer ala K.I.T.T. or the HAL 9000 or something more personable, what-have-you, but in my mind this doesn't sound like it approaches that in the least (and I know the technology's not there). 'course it might help if I actually heard the thing talk or saw it do anything else! heh.

RE: Met the Rocket Man and staff at A.E.E
It makes sense if it was more of a publicity stunt than a real attempt to launch a commercially successful sex robot. From the YouTube video I saw it did come across as slightly surreal. At one point he seemed to be on the point of bitch slapping it when its voice didn't activate as he was grabbing her arm. And I still don't understand the connection between building a sexbot and 9/11.

I've also read that MechaDoll in Japan had already put crude touch activated voice inside some of their realistic dolls, which it appears is all that Roxxxy has. In which case she isn't the world's first sex robot, but it certainly worked as a publicity stunt because it's been covered by nearly every news outlet in the world.

I think we're a long, long way from having sex robots with A.I. Something that will happen far sooner is the combining of teledildonics and haptic technology with realistic sex dolls to enable virtual sex via telepresence.

Also, as I said in an earlier post, I'm very excited about how RealTouch and 3D might go together. Can you imagine a RealTouch blowjob haptic encoded with a 3D pov blowjob movie??? That might be VERY close to the real thing.

RE: Met the Rocket Man and staff at A.E.E
RealMan, the 3D idea is interesting. I was quite taken by surprise at the amount of 3D coverage at CES this year (in fact, was planning to go Blu-Ray and possibly upgrade TV's soon and think I'm gonna hold off a few months to see what's what), so it certainly looks like 3D is going to hit the mainstream pretty soon, first with glasses, and I guess 2011/2012 they're talking about displays that can project 3D without glasses (no idea how that's going to work, but that's the plan from what I've read). So I certainly think virtual porn with something like RealTouch is indeed a possibility - nice thought on the future... I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to start encoding porn in this new technology. And eventually, how cool would it be to have something like a live webcam with stars where their performance is 3D and they can control RealTouch as well?

RE: Met the Rocket Man and staff at A.E.E
I was in Harrods, the big department store in London recently, and LG had on display a 3D screen that does not require glasses. The 3D effect was certainly effective - the display was showing a basket containing 3 bottles and one of them appeared to be jutting right out of the screen. I also had the sensation of walking around the basket as I took a couple of steps to my left. The technology isn't finished but it certainly is there.

I think I remember you saying here that you were a fan of gay porn - you might be interested to know that the only professional 3d porn site currently out there is Dominic Ford's gay site (just google Dominic Ford).

I hope 3D porn takes off, apart from anything else I've bought a load of good domain names ex: 3d-gayporn.com , 3d-porntube.com , 3dporndvds.com , 3dwebcamporn.com etc
