Like I said, if the RealTouch is a success, the adult industry is going to throw millions at this. And as DeepThroat says, there isn't much of a technological barrier involved in combining it with real dolls.

What will be really interesting is when the virtual sex experience is live and two way. For example, with a woman who has a female version of the RealTouch (or DeepThroat's VSM ). Then, if the devices were integrated into RealDolls, you could have each participant controlling their 'virtual bodies' to have real virtual sex with each other!

Further down the line, nanotechnology could be employed to build 'virtual sex bodies' instantly that are either identical to one's real body or else any kind of fantasy body that is desired. This IS speculation of course, but many people believe nano-assemblers with this kind of power will be around in just a couple of decades.

I like the sound of Cantonese quite a lot. Mellower and more fun than Mandarin to me. Weirdly enough, when hearing it in the background in a place with a lot of ambient noise, like a bus or train (which I do all the time, because I live in a largely Cantonese-speaking area), it occasionally sounds like indistinct Thai, which I speak. It's funny, though, because Thai and Cantonese don't actually have very similar phonetic inventories or tone systems. I think it's just that they're both tonal languages with final consonants. So I find myself straining to hear what they're saying, then eventually realize it's Cantonese. I've since started to learn Cantonese, so this is less often a problem than it once was.

Korean I'm not so into--it sounds rather hissy and mushy to me. Too many sibilants and not enough noticeable sentence stress. Japanese is alright, and I speak little bit of that, too, but I find the hyper-feminine childlike intonation that some women employ quite grating.

Do these dolls really do it for men? I like women too and I just can't see myself getting into one of these dolls. The bodies look nice but the faces really kind of creep me out. I wonder if they'll ever really solve the "uncanny valley" problem... i really think that should be a bigger priority than adding a realtouch kind of thing in.

Eh, it'll never be perfect but sometimes fake companionship is better than nothing. I don't think I'd ever be willing to buy one of these things unless I won the lottery, but if someone just gave me one I can't say that I wouldn't use it on occasion.
