the RealTouch would be available to ship outside of the USA at some point in the future.
Well I think AEBN are missing out on A LOT of customers while this state of affairs exists. Already my blogs are getting as many RealTouch related google hits from Europe and elsewhere as from America. And AEBN have only been promoting the RealTouch IN America thus far.

*points to self* This kind of idiot would and does! Come on, it seems pretty clear you're just bashing the product because they don't offer pricing that you like. I'd say the reviews overall are pretty positive so far - I know I really love mine, even though I only use it once or twice every week or two. There are people with issues, and I've had a few myself, but it's an amazing toy and overall I'm pretty thrilled they pulled it off.
It's clear you hate the VOD system, but you're just repeating the same thing over and over about how it'll fail and call people idiots instead of being constructive. I too hope for content to own eventually, but the fact is, that's just not the model they have right now. I didn't like the per minute idea at first either, but given that their pricing is actually quite a bit cheaper than initially announced (with their biggest package, you can get it down to less than half of the first-rumored $1/min figure, actually), I can't really complain. My minutes are lasting quite nicely given the amount I use it, and it makes for an amazing treat when I'm really horny.
I know Deep Throat mentions his Virtual Sex Machine, which has DVD's available where you don't have to pay per minute. Perhaps you should give that a try?
I guess I'm just saying, what's the point in bashing this product because it doesn't meet your standards. A lot of us wish there was ownable content, but there's not at the moment, and I'm sure they're aware people want it - hopefully they'll eventually provide it, but in the meantime, it's sort of a situation where you can enjoy the product the way it works now or find something that meets your criteria. They've never hidden this is VOD - it's been planned that way from the start.
realman, any word on whether they're shipipng internationally yet? I hope they can before long...

But what you point out is accurate. The Virtual Sex Machine does include content that you own, and can use as much as you like. And any additional content, which is actually less per minute that VOD, is also owned forever, and can be used whenever you want, as often as you want. There is never a "clock running" in the background.
I'm sure they would love to ship their little toy all over the world. Unfortunately, there's a lot of due process when it comes to this sort of thing. They have to make sure they're not infringing on any non-US patents, for instance. I guess you could always get a "friend" to buy you one for Christmas or something.
