I have the money to buy right now BUT, I wont buy until I can download content. I will pay a higher price for the content to own and replay as many times as I want BUT will not PPV.
What's funny is I have enough money to do PPV I just wont because its not necessary. It makes no sense reading through this forum about the adult industry having licensing so the material so it cant be sold. SELL IT for its full price PLUS what ever RealTouch wants to add onto it but SELL IT because if people can own and replay they will buy it. Your being told this hundreds of time on this forum.
They don't realize 1% of the people who want this will buy and use PPV while more that 70% of the people who will buy it AND buy down loadable content will never buy anything until they can download and replay a video unlimited times.
If they don't change their system soon they will lose the 70% who are interested.
Good luck and your window is small to profit from this in demand product before your competitor does what your already identified and willing future customers are trying to tell you to do now.
I'll be buying the competitors product because I have to WAIT right now for you to figure out how to make this marketable to me AND while you wander in indecision your losing time as I wait for your competitor to give me what I am already ready to pay for NOW.
I 100% agree with Eisen! The VAST majority of people will not buy realtouch, simply because they can not download AND OWN the content and be able to use it whenever they want. AEBN really must consider the fact that if they sold the Haptic Encoded video on DVDs to own that people will not only buy the DVD, but will continue to buy more DVDs for the different content! AEBN will make much more revenue by taking this route compared to PPV. Also, downloading the video to own is equally as desirable.
It would be a shame for the realtouch to fail because it is currently the front runner in terms of being a Virtual Sex Device. The time to make content to OWN is now, because like Eisen said, most people are willing to buy the realtouch device, BUT only if they can also buy video content that they can own and reuse when they want because they would have spent a hefty price, but a well-spent price at that!

Real touch was designed as a way for the Adult Entertainment Industry to make a continuous profit off of videos and toys, not just a one off sale. If they ever sell DVDS, they can be duplicated, and that revenue stream will end.
Don't get too upset over the fact the "I won't buy a realtouch until they sell me movies", as they don't want your business anyways. They want people who have disposable income to spend on porn over time, not just a one off sale.
i understand your point about dvd duplication, its enevitable.. the shit is gonna get pirated end of story but RT is gonna get pirated anyway even if they dont sell dvd's, someone will write a program that duplicates exactly what happens when you stream online there is no way around it, but limiting your demographic to only ppl who have a disposable income is very narrow minded and most likely will generate less income then the selling of dvd's, i think the revenue they are gonna get from minutes is gonna eventually dwindle b/c i think ppl will get sick of "feedin the meter". I think the RT is pretty awsome and its a shame its practically a paperweight right now b/c i wont buy minutes for 1$/min and cant afford to spend 100$ to get the discount... still clinging to the hope they fix this
maybe even like a monthly subscription like 14.95/month would work, id be game for that and they keep their residual income and people would be free to use the realtouch anytime allthetime or whatever. i think people would be alot more open to something like that b/c its not severely limited and doesnt break the bank at the same time.
I can see both sides of this issue.
For me personally, the package price (which brings it down to around 50 cents a minute) is a pretty decent value as I tend to use the device occasionally and for 10 or 15 minutes at a time, so 200 minutes will likely last me somewhere between 3 and 6 months realistically. If you're like me and the occasional user, I'd definitely suggest saving up for the package price because it's worth it over buying the small packages even though the wait to save up for them will be annoying.
That said, for people who take significantly longer with it each time, or for people who want to use it often, I can see this being a major drawback to the device. Personally I wouldn't want to use it everyday not only because of the expense but it's also a bit of a rougher toy than most and I don't want to become desensitized to any one thing, so I like to mix it up a bit (hand, other toys like TENGA, etc.)
So I guess I'm saying, I'm one the pricing model will probably work for, but I do understand the dilemma and that this can definitely add up. I favor and hope to see content to own (either via DVD or purchasable content you can stream as many times as you want) or a monthly plan.
Personally I'd like to see 'em start encoding whole DVD movies and offer the entire thing as a streaming movie to own (but still have rental or stream by the minute options too). They could charge a pretty heftly price for ownership (2-3X standard DVD price I'd say) as long as it was replayable forever by the user. I know if some of my favorites (Oliver Twink for example lol) were available via this method, I'd probably go for it.

I'm in the same boat. If you use something like this so often, the real thing will become un-pleasurable and unrealistic for you. Currently, I use my RealTouch maybe once a week. The first week I used it 2-3 times just to try it out and experiment with it, but was shocked to find I was already becoming slightly desensitized by overusing.
I'm not joking when I say that I think this machine (and others like it) are like a controlled substance. If you use this too much, you will grow a dependence upon using it, and will not be happy unless you us it. Laugh if you want, but psychosomatic additions are very real.
RealTouch is a nice treat, a fun to have, and fun to play with occasionally. For people out there bitching that they want to use it 30 minutes a day and will never pay for that type of VOD service, I suggest you take a hard look at your life and ask if you really want to be that person.
People, seriously, it's sex toy invented by some guy from NASA. If you don't want pay for it, then either take care of business manually, or get out of your parents basement and meet someone in person.
