Yup it would need a DPDT switch to get a polarity swap on the motors.
the switch would have to supply both Pos and Neg. An easy thing to do. Quick question as to what has been used to change the amperage? Is anyone using a Variable .5 watt 250v [max] resistor?
anyhow just gets better as we go along. next will be some kind of midi or usb input to a small PCB to control voltage flow.

Assuming you are using a 12v power supply.

Hey, I don't currently own a RT, but I was interested in buying one (when/if it gets cracked or they get rid of ppm). After reading about how they stream the media, I was wondering if anyone has tried Download Helper.
It's an add-on for firefox that let's you download/save streamed media files to your computer. I'd be interested to see if it worked for all of the coding required by the RT. Let me know!
PS this isn't some kind of plug for download helper

it is (was?) free
I know there's a pin-out, I don't suppose anyone's got a diagram of the hardware controller they'd care to share?
I just got confirmation my RT is in the mail and will get here sometime next week. I'm a gadget hobbyist and am interested in making my own device controller for it. I am considering using two rheostat controllers like those used in an RC controller which I'm hoping will give speed and directional control for each belt, an SPST switch for lube and orifice, and a simple toggle for the heater control. I'm interested to see how others have made theirs to get an idea of any technical considerations to prevent possibly damaging the device.
Thanks!
anyone able to record a video that works with one of those usb capture programs? if so could you pm me instructions or if you could send me a working clip that would be amazing and much appreciated.
so not one person who posted a link to one of those usb capture progs have gotten it to actually record a vid that works with the realtouch? no one has a stand alone vid that could be sent to me that works with the device?

you could use urlsniffer, that could every file from a website

or wwwhack
anyone have a clip recorded that actually works with the device? i would greatly appreciate it if you could send me it
You know the software side of this wouldn't be too hard to figure out. Since we know the pinout, any robotics enthusiast worth his coil of solder can create a simple PC interface. Plenty of off-the-shelf ones exist already. Is there anything to stop someone from simply making their own interface box replacement and some software to go with it? Syncing something like a midi control file (or something else) up to a video and using serial communication shouldn't be terribly hard either. The hardest part would be recording the events you want to sync to.
I would be working on this myself but at the moment I can't afford a Realoutch, let alone the components to experiment. But if no one else gets to it within a few months I think you'll be hearing from me.
