Great find! Well there you have it. You were right with your figure Justin. But, it doesn't mention if there will be packages, so we can hope that buying "in bulk" will reap some rewards...
Pretty great article - first I've heard of someone actually using it. I also found it awesome they go frame by frame through the videos and take 8 hours to encode 20 minutes - sounds like if true it won't just be a decent or sloppy approximation but they're really going for well-coded duplication of the sex (which, of course, means a higher price becomes at least a bit more reasonable).
The only thing I wasn't crazy about in the articles was the bit about point-of-view videos. Assuming they're what I think they are (you see only the star "performing" on the camera), I think those sound pretty cool, but I hope they encode lots of regular porn as well. I know there are some favorite porn titles I'd love to see encoded, and I think *only* point-of-view videos could get old fast, at least for me, as I prefer variety, and I kind of think I prefer seeing the multiple partners/etc. I'd like to see some hentai and variety too. =o) But I suppose there's plenty of time for them to figure out there's a market for more than just POV videos... I'm sure it's not just me who'll feel that way.
Also, I wonder if the device will be very well protected against people developing outside applications, as it sounds like they're banking on the videos being the only thing that can drive the device... I don't know how it would be possible to do that, though...

First of all, awesome thanks for the link as far as the device being protected, they really can't stop someone from hacking it, as far as creating a "patch" to patch it so it works without encoding videos, but not sure to what extent it will work, but it will happen.

Yes, I've wondered about patches also. This is a device that's begging to be extended.
There is a Japanese company that has created a variant of the real touch. Here's a website:

Their device uses vibration and not friction. Thus making it much less effective than real touch. What's interesting though is the uses they are planning for it.
For one, they have created an input device, that looks like a dildo and automatically syncs with video when it's used and is translated into output signals for the "female" device (such as a real touch) when the video is played back.
So performers use the input device while making a video and simultaneously encode the video for use with an output device like the real touch. When you play the video back, the responses of the output device should correspond to the action on the video.
Provided such a device was capable of encoding at a "fine grain" level, it would eliminate the need to code frame by frame and lower the price of video.
Of course, there is no input device for the real touch, but it's a theoretical possibility and truly thought provoking.

The amount of technology in the past few years with all this is just simply insane, I can't believe it has came to this, pretty soon they are going to have a device you hook up and your actually literally going to be fucking her, or some hologram. Lol, This is seriously the best thing ever created. The creator is a genus.

Yeah. I'm envisioning for the super high end market things like RealDoll (those mega-expensive sex dolls) incorporating things like this... It was a while ago (thinking 1-2 years), but I remember someone on the Colbert Report...an author...who's whole argument was the future was sex with robots. I always do this day would come, but I wouldn't say the real touch is a "robot", It's just a machine, and they have always had machines for girls, like the Sybian or the dildo machine where it moves the dildo back in forth (whats the name?). I'm just glad that we can finally tell all those girls that we actually have something that is bad ass, and not have to do any work like they do, haha.

Well, true, it's not a robot, though I guess I'm saying I can see it being a small but very important part of something bigger in the future and a closer step to one, especially since it's a *programmable/coded* sex toy instead of simply an on/off, variable speed, or manual device like a sleeve. The only thing I can think of that has any sort of similar programming ability in the sex toy industry would be electrostimulation. Imagine what would happen with RealTouch if, instead of being hard coded to a video, say, they added a microphone and made it voice sensitive (granted that's a slightly silly example, but as part of a robot). "I want a blowjob." "Yeah, faster." Etc. =oP The technology actually exists now to do something like that...to make it more interactive. Perhaps eventually it could even have sensors and determine when someone is close to orgasm and slow down or be smart about things...figure out what stimulates you more, etc. Or of course, your example of hologram fucking (I know I saw that in a movie not that long ago, but can't remember which). ^.^
Also, take something like the expensive Japanase sex dolls (or RealDoll [www.realdoll.com] here in the US). Right now from my understanding (I've never seen one in person), they have a vagina/anus/mouth similar to what the fleshlights are like. I'm sure before too long it would be easy to adapt them with something more like this instead that would make them so much better. I read about this on another site and can't remember where but another possibility that was mentioned was webcam shows. Imagine if the webcam host or hostess had a device that would activate the real touch via the internet in real time. So that the action on the webcam is simulated by the real touch.
