Hey all!

Got my RealTouch today and wanted to give a rundown of my thoughts after it's very first use (~20 minutes)! Going to be as thorough as I can, but I also want to emphasize these are my first impression - it's going to take a few uses with the thing to really get a feel for it.

First off, I need to mention packaging. I would suggest the company package a bit better as my box (a plain brown box and not double boxed) arrived in quite bad shape and even slightly open (to the point where the delivery person could have peeked if he wanted to by prying the open part slightlyr, though it wouldn't have been too obvious what it was unless he was in the know). Fortunately the contents all seemed fine. I did not have to sign for the package.

There's quite a bit more than I initially thought as far as chords for the device, but the good thing is most (the "tower") can be left plugged in after set up so in subsequent uses only one plug needs to be inserted. It also comes with a bottle of lube and documentation. Setup wasn't difficult as long as you're familiar with USB, etc.

For some reason, I couldn't find instructions to login the first time, and as far as I can tell they were never sent to me by e-mail. Fortunately, I called RealTouch and within 2 minutes I was into the site - very friendly and helpful support with almost no hold time. Kudos for that!

Software installed without issue - fast and easy download. Do make sure you look at the directions and make sure the RealTouch plugin is enabled in Windows Media Player when you play your first video (see directions).

This thing drinks a *lot* of lube. As in, the bottle they provided (only 3.5 oz, but still) is 5/6 gone with one fill. When I first filled it, it didn't seem to be dispensing properly during warmup and my initial go, but fortunately I squirted a bit more more in and it suddenly started working - must be the pump took a bit to get going. Warmup mode isn't bad at all, two minutes of it heating up and running its belts.

You can definitely hear it, but it's not as noisy as I expected - pretty quiet; I'd say quieter than a Venus 2000 for those familiar with that.

Now, for how it feels. It feels pretty freaking good, and it really does provide a hands free experience (though you may have to hold it/guide it a lil - I got it propped against the edge of my keyboard tray pretty easily and securely though, with only occasional hand adjustment).

I'll be blunt that the sex acts themselves don't feel 100% like the real thing (but there's only so much you can do with a system of belts, and it does a very good job of varying sensation for how it works). Don't get me wrong - it feels great, but it's still not exactly fucking an orifice (ass in my case - haven't tried hetero vids yet). The head/blowjobs seem a bit more realistic than the penetration for me.

Once you accept it's not going to feel exactly authentic, it's a lot of fun, and pretty exciting, to be feeling sensations along with the video you're watching. The lube splash that happens occasionally (or that you can manually trigger) is a very unique sensation and a lot of fun, and the video encoding works well and really does move synced nicely with the vids.

Like some other posters mentioned, sometimes it almost seems like the thing is moving too fast and desensitizes you to it during fast scenes. I too prefer the slower scenes because you feel a lot more. I think even with the faster scenes, I'd prefer the fast motion be somehow indicated more with fast alterations (in direction for example) than with fast belt speeds.

I did encounter just a bit of the clicking another review mentioned, but not a lot of it. At one point, also, I was in the device and it was feeling not-so-great. I'm not sure why...it wasn't painful exactly but wasn't pleasant. I pulled out a bit and pushed back in, and it started feeling good again, so I'm really not sure what could have happened there.

Someone mentioned for someone not as large, do you still feel the tongue licks to the head of a cock for example? I'm a bit over 5" and can quite honestly say that's a resounding yes, so that's a plus.

I had a quite wonderful orgasm in RealTouch and to my pleasant surprise it wasn't uncomfortably intense directly after, as some toys can be. I may have lucked out as it switched to a slower scene, but it really felt pretty great. I won't say it's the best orgasm I've ever had with a toy, but it was at the upper end of the scale to be sure. Very nice!

Regarding technical issues, I did encounter a media player crash of the RealTouch plugin while trying to jump ahead (by clicking in the tracking bar of the video). So you may have to watch the scenes only from the beginning - I'm not sure? (H_E?) I restarted the computer but later figured out you can probably just load media player again and reenable the Realtouch plugin (tells you how in the directions you get).

Video quality is okay, but not as good as some of the videos on regular AEBN, my guess because you can't pick different quality streams for your connection (I'm sure this can be added in the future). It'd be nice to see higher resolution or even HD available eventually for people with fast connections. Also, selection is a bit limited at the moment, but I'm sure that'll eventually improve, and I was able to find several models/clips that I liked.

Re the lube, yes, this thing does make a mess on the default (100%) lube setting. You are going to have lube all over your genitals and chair. I think it's inevitable. It's going to go through a lot of lube also, so you might want to stock up if you're planning to use it often. lol.

Also, I would not recommend overuse of this device. I can see a very real possibility of overuse desensitizing your cock to other softer stimulation. That's not a negative - just a caution. With the minute per minute fee, this is probably a toy you'll use as an occasional treat anyway.

Cleaning really isn't too bad. I'd put it on par with FleshLight - yes, there's some take apart and messing, but it's not the end of the world either. Not something you'll want to do every time you masturbate, but for an occasional intense experience, sure.

Overall, I'm happy I got it, looking forward to using it more and seeing more video content, but will likely keep it as an occasional in the mood toy instead of an every day staple. So it's not the ultimate kill-all toy, but it is a fantastic toy nonetheless.

To Wolfpup, first I would just like to say that you have given us an excellent and honest review. Thank you very much for that. I have a question for you, you mentioned that when you skip ahead in the video that it crashed. Was that a one time thing that happened for some unknown reason? I am asking because what if I get bored of the current scene and want to skip ahead in the video to different action?

Basically, my question is this: Can you skip ahead in the video to change to different scenes? Because if you have to play the video from start to the very end, that will SUCK so badly because I like to skip ahead in videos when I watch porn. Thanks Wolfpup!

TheFuture, to answer your question, I tried again to skip ahead in the video, this being the third time with no success. It didn't crash this time but it didn't load. I had to click on a new video. It just kind of...stopped, after I tried to jump ahead. RealTouch/Haptic_Encoder will have to let us know if this is normal behavior. But so far, no joy. I can tell you you can jump ahead on normal AEBN videos no problem, so I don't see why it's not working for RealTouch ones - maybe it has something to do with the encoding? Or perhap's it's an anomaly with my setup somehow...

A few more observations:
- I discovered the 50% lube setting is plenty for me.
- I discovered it *is* better if you hold it versus just propping against something. It'll work kind of leaning against the desk, but it does tend to subtly shift a bit and even sublty move up and down, which is actually undesirable with this. If you hold it steady (and I'm sure something could be rigged to do this for you), it feels substantially better as the belts provide more friction. It doesn't take a lot of effort to hold, just placing a hand or both on it works.
- It works fine even if slightly damp after first use. Though it is slicker and there's a bit more leakage.
- I think I enjoyed this second time more than the first time and rode it to another great orgasm. This time the action was fast when I came, and I still was able to ride it out just fine without it becoming too uncomfortably intense too quickly. Nice job on that!

Well, the videos are fairly short (most I've seen are between 5 and 12 minutes) and feature specific sex acts. Some are longer and do change, but most are just one or two things it seems, not whole 30 minute or hourlong movies. So if you want a blowjob, you just switch to a video that starts with a blowjob. At least that's the workaround I found. I would *think* they should be able to incorporate jumping ahead in streams if it's not already there fairly easily. Or it could be it is and there's a technical issue I'm experiencing. I'd like to see longer videos eventual too/full porn movies you can stop one night and resume the next.

Of the sensations experienced, blowjob's the most realistic, but that's not to say the others are bad. I haven't tried tit job or footjob, but I looked at the straight vids for you and both of those categories do exist. =)

I can tell you from the blowjobs, I saw some scenes where a tongue was teasing the cock (for example, a flick of the tongue on the underside or head), and RealTouch actually prety adeptly copied the motions. One of my favorite parts of the videos in fact. Felt awesome.

hmmm. I haven't tried to pause yet (and I'm worn out for tonight lol ^.^). Hopefully someone else has or I can answer that next time I try it. Since you can't jump ahead, I have concerns about pausing, but I can tell you you could easily stop the video and start another one when you're ready if you need a break, which in effect does the same thing.

You can access how many minutes you have left on the website before playing a video in your My Account section, but you kind of have to keep track of your own time while watching the vids. You can see how much time is used on each video easily, but it doesn't keep track for you how many minutes you have left to keep an eye on (that I saw anyways). If it's anything like regular AEBN, it just stops when you run out and prompts you that you're out of minutes and need to buy more. lol.

Yes, whild a video is paused (assuming you can) or stopped, you are not charged. But RealTouch obviously doesn't move either.

Followup, without the device connected, I tried to pause a video, and it worked fine, with no delay on resuming either. (Skipping ahead still does not work).

I've used RealTouch some more and have a few more observations:

- My biggest problem so far has been to get lube to dispense reliably. It seems each time it takes a bit of messing (usually squeezing the bottle into the reservoir and then running warmup again) to get it to start coming out. Once it does start its fine. Hopefully since I'm in my first few uses once the pump is primed this won't be an issue with regular use. If I keep having problems, I'll try rinsing it like the directiosn indicate. I suggest everyone using it make sure lube is dispensing properly (you should be able to tell with your finger as well as hear it - there's a whirring sound [almost reminiscient of a sprinkler] that I noticed that only seems to happen when lube is being dispensed).

- I'm finding I like RealTouch better with each use. Part of this is getting it set up right and lubing right, and part of it is just the learning curve of knowing what to expect. But my last few sessions have been very pleasurable.

- Average time for me using the device to achieve orgasm is around 10 minutes.

- When it is dispensing lube, it eats it like there's no tomorrow. This is potentially the most annoying thing about the device, and could be a bit costly as well. I'm actually quite surprised just how fast it does use lube up.

- Some members have expressed concern over the noise of the device. I'm in respectful disagreement - I still think this is fairly quiet for an automated sex toy and quieter than I expected, but I've used some really loud toys in the past, so that I'm sure alters my perception somewhat - lol.

- Cleaning isn't difficult at all. It's not possible to get in all nooks and crannies inside, so I definitely recommend cleaning immediately after use, but it's quite fast to do, and I think if done immediately should keep it comfortably clean.

- The shell sometimes is a bit tricky to get off and back on, but not terrible.

- I'm still having the issue with not being able to jump ahead in videos - they either hang when I try (and RealTouch stops) or Windows Media Player crashes altogether. At this point, I'm thinking it must be something about my particular configuration since I haven't seen any other reports like this - a format in the next few months should fix it if that's the case. Either way, the available videos are short, I can pause and resume just fine, and I can switch videos just fine, so this isn't a dealbreaker for me - it would just be nice to get working if I want to "finish" a video I didn't make it all the way through.

- One slight disappointment is video selection currently available, but I'm sure that will improve with time as the device takes off. As it stands, there are maybe a handful of videos that really turn me on (all around 10 minutes) but those will get old eventually.

Overall, at this point I'm fairly pleased with my purchase - moreso than after my first try with the device. It's actually quite good when you get all your ducks in a row. I suppose I also wasn't expecting not to run into *any* issues since this is a new device and the first masturbator I know of that uses a similar system (belts, etc.). I don't know how the average consumer will react, but with a little patience, and as long as it holds up (seems to be so far), I'd say for me this one lives up to the hype.

I was able to skip ahead in a video w/o any issues, in fact the device paused during the short buffer and then resumed appropriately when the video started up again. i was also able to pause the video and the device paused as well. On the lube leakage, I may need to play around w/ the setting in the plugin to get the right amount flowing, I had some leakage on my 2nd run, but thought it may have been related to not being fully inserted in the device.

Pause works fine with me - I just can't skip ahead. I'm kind of assuming this should start working after my next format at this point. =oP But thanks for the verification that it's definitely something on my end.

I kind of think some leakage is just matter-of-fact for this device, but yeah, not being fully inserted can certainly affect things.
