I was woundering if anyone ever forked out the money for these things. 7000 dollars. So many things I could by with that cash. But I for one Do like the sex dolls my self and sadly enough to admit its my teddy bear at night maybe thats why my pop a lot.

But would any of you guys save for it? I was debateing for saveing for a half a year to get it but, then there are many other things out there. But these dolls look so sexy. i wounder how they ship to you and how werid it would be to get a crate and lug it in my apartment. o.0

LOL. This prompted me to visit their site (realdoll.com) for the first time in a long time and I see they finally have the new male dolls out. As someone who likes twinks (smaller-framed more boyish-looking guys), they're quite hot! But they need a few more pics, especially of the faces. hehe.

I won't say I've never toyed with the idea of getting one (and I've gotten cheap inflatable dolls before), but in the end it'd take quite a bit for me to actually do it.

For one, as you mentioned, the price is pretty hard to justify for anyone. If I won the lottery sometime or otherwise ended up unreasonably wealthy someday, maybe. =oP

But even then there's a storage issue... I mean, it's not like these are deflateable, so essentially you need a man-sized space somewhere. lol. I can just see it now - me wrestling one into my closet, then having the cops break down my door because a neighbor saw me struggling with a body. =oP

But seriously, I have a heavy Cyberskin butt now that I store in my closet and cover with cloth (in case of company), and I just don't know what I'd do with a full-sized doll. Even the butt is heavy and large and awkward (which also makes cleaning so).

Plus as good as the dolls are (and I'm sure they would be a lot of fun to use - I'd love to try one just to see what it's like), I have to think for me there'd be some serious cognitive dissonance (buyer's remorse) after buying one. I mean, you can have sex with it...and you can cuddle it, but it's not going to talk to you or really hold you or act on its own, etc., etc. At the end of the day, it's just an empty doll and not a substitute for a human... Unbelievably cool, sure, but not a replacement, so I'd rather strive for the real thing at this point in my life. And if I don't end up with a partner and hit the lottery with the space to spare at some point in the future, hey you never know... lol

I have to say an artifically intelligent RealDoll that can interact would be pretty damn hot - dunno about loving the thing but can certainly see thinking I do. =oP Something like that would be pretty wild...

Again, just to set the record straight.....
Both of these items (Synced with the girl's actions, and live over the net) were first demonstrated on a show called "cyberlove" on the "The Sync" network (Washington DC TV Network, and for years later, on the web) in July 1998. (Yes, 11 years ago)

And that product, wait for it......was the Virtual Sex Machine.
Which has been available to the public for retail sale since June 2000.

I have to say I can see where the dude who wrote the book about robots and sex in the future is going in say, 50 years (possibly less). When Artificial Intelligence is born (not necessarily sentience but enough to act mostly human) and robotics become cheap enough to mass produce and make affordable, I can see robotic sex dolls that are almost as realistic in interaction as a human. Not for years down the road of course, but could be we're headed that way. Probably incredibly expensive at first but eventually coming down in cost as they become more of a commodity.

But just imagine a RealDoll or CandyGirl (what they call them in Japan) that could interact, move freely, and have the equivalent of RealTouch or the Virtual Sex Machine for their mouth, vagina, and bum. I'm kind of guessing Japan will be first in this one. ;o)

I'm going to order the robot love book from Amazon. I've read the same author's 'beginners guide to Artificial Intelligence' and it's really good. In fact he devotes a chapter in that to describing how porn and the adult industry will likely drive forward development of A.I (just as it did the internet).

There is A LOT riding on the success of the RealTouch. The adult Industry is suffering big time with all the free amateur and copyrighted porn out there on sites like PornTube. If RealTouch makes AEBN money then you are going to see virtual sex explode. You could see RealTouch v2.0 integrated with Real Dolls within 5 years would be my guess (and hope)!

You're right about that. The industry is suffering big time, and churn rates are at an all time high.
Did you mean Pornotube.com, or porntube.com?

Pornotube was sued for piracy by Vivid, later settled, (undisclosed terms)and is owned by AEBN. (Same guys as Real Touch)

Porntube I couldn't find any stories about piracy.

It could be. The technology isn't the issue, other than the "true AI."
But you wouldn't need that for a very realistic experience.
