It's been dead around here lately so I figure I'll open the discussion back up.

I was having a conversation with my girlfriend (soon to be fiance) recently and we got on the discussion of sex toys. She is studying to be a Sex therapist so she is pretty open minded about masturbation, toys, etc. Well, I told her that I really wanted to get a Realtouch if/when it is released. Once I showed her the site and explained to her what it does she was instantly resistant to the idea. She said she couldn't put her finger on why - she just didn't like the thought of me using it.

Mind you, she has all kind of vibrators so I was amazed by her automatic resistance to me getting a Realtouch! She said she was also turned off by the fact that it had to be used with porn and that I would be paying per minute. It reminded her too much paying for a prostitute.

I personally feel like women have had the market cornered on sex toys for so long that they are going to be intimidated when we can have something extraordinary. They've been plugging in and battery-ing up for crazy orgasms for a long time. We men have been stuck in the stone age with our hands. This new phenomenon could cause some conflict in relationships.

So what will your girlfriends think of this new level playing field? Have you had any discussions already? Will you hide your Realtouch from her?
Dude Seriously?? 35 views on this thread....lot's of views on other threads and no participants? Is this forum just as dead as the product???!!!
I can't really participate fully as I don't have a partner (I'm bi but mostly gay). That said, I suppose I can see why someone could have an objection to it. I personally wonder if it might be the pay per minute angle that upsets her much more than perhaps a masturbation sleeve would. You might ask her what she thinks of something like Fleshlight and if she still feels resistant about it - that might be a good clue as to where the actual objection is coming from.

Personally, if I did have a partner, unless I was very comfortable how they'd feel about RealTouch, I probably would keep it fairly discrete (only use it when they weren't around, not talk about it in any detail, etc.).

I can tell you, thinking of it in a "shoe on the other foot" perspective, if I had a male partner who used it, I wouldn't have a problem with use of the device itself. If anything, my worry/anxiety would be it satisfying him more than I could and being insecure about that...or about him using it and not wanting to be with me. Apart from that, I'd be cool with it, but I can see how use of a toy that provides the "full experience" (sans actual personal connection of course) could provide a bit of performance anxiety.
