'Adult film studios are eager to get their products encoded for use with RealTouch, since it will operate only with specially encoded VOD movies and therefore eliminates the consequence of piracy. As AEBN CEO Scott Coffman explains, “You can pirate the video but you can’t pirate the experience.” '
It's not quite as clear as I remembered reading it but I think it does suggest that we could be seeing either DVDs or online content released by other companies to work with the RealTouch. However, it might just be referring to adult companies taking a share of the revenue produced by their films at the RealTouch VOD site.
I guess it's a technical question that I can't answer : Will a single hack really unlock ALL videos that work with the RealTouch? I suspect not and I hope not, because if haptic encoded videos really are more difficult to pirate then adult companies are indeed going to be beating down the door of AEBN to have their content encoded - and then of course we will soon have content (paid for) that we can use over and over again. So everybody's happy, Scott Coffman becomes one of the richest men on the planet, Haptic Encoder has a 7 figure salary, the adult industry is saved :-)
This might be why AEBN haven't launched their affiliate program. Perhaps the idea will be that MOST RealTouch content will eventually be released via other adult companies on their own sites/DVDs and in fact that the RealTouch itself might be sold largely via these other adult companies (so THEY would in effect be the affiliates doing the marketing for AEBN).
****EDIT : Now I see that AEBN are saying that adult companies want their products encoded for use on VOD. Damn. Well, I won't delete this post because I still think it should be food for thought for AEBN.
