I tried loading the freebie and it's an 8 minute (just the Real Touch action) Windows Media Player thing so if you want to watch another video and let this play it will have to be using a stand alone DVD player or use something like VLC media player if you have it saved on your computer.
What did you think of the free track? Was it boring?
The free track was pretty plain, just back and forth motion with a couple of flurries of activity and about the half way point and near the end.
Yay! Yes, I noticed the new options as well! Personally I tried the unlimited rental on Dillon Samuels clips as he's my favorite porn star and I want them to add more. =oP Pretty awesome I can use these clips whenever I want now and not worry about minutes - a bit pricey at $29.95 per clip, but considering it's a new "unlimited use" option that I know I like, it makes sense to me if I can't budget at the time to add new minutes once I run out. I'm sure it'll depend on my mood and whether I want something I know I like and to just relax and enjoy, or whether I want something new. ^.^
Seems like it changes those clips to unlimited rental everywhere (the search page, favorites, etc.), so I don't think you can accidentally end up paying for a rental once you own it (or rent it for the week).
Of course, I'd like it better to own a full length DVD or entire stream of a DVD, not just clips, but it's a step in the right direction to have an unlimited option. I personally am considering buying a clip of Jenna Haze (my favorite) because I've used many of my minutes on the same clip AND a few of her clips are longer lengths like 10 minutes or longer. I think it's ridiculous that 5 min clips still cost 29.95. They should price shorter length clips at 4.95, 9.95, 19.95, etc. I would think customers would be wise and spend their money on longer clips. There should be package deals also, for example, all the clips from the Interactive Sex Series for 29.95....but that's like getting a DVD. So hey, if the whole point of keeping things streaming is to thwart piracy, why not bundle clips and sell as a package?
I agree - I want full DVD's to become available as well. Hopefully eventually - I'm sure that takes some time to encode - they're probably trying to get a nice variety out there for now. I also agree the standard price needs twesking and the clips should definitely be priced according to length (especially for short ones). For me, for my favorites I hit often, it is going to be worth it, but I'll only be buying clips if they're really, really, really favorites. Per minute works for the rest so I can have a nice variety.
The free option is neat and I'm sure I'll try it, but I can't really envision using it all that often since it's the same thing - I can just as easily mute the volume of an unlimited rental and do whatever I was going (look at erotica, watch a clip on my computer, etc.). I have this sneaky suspicion (and it's only that; I'm an end-user just like most here so have no inside knowledge) this may not be the final version of the free use feature. It makes sense to me that eventually they could extend the software to make a computer application allowing limited control so you could customize the sensation at least somewhat. Might just be wishful thinking though.
The one week rental sounds neat too, but I just don't see myself using that one that often. If I like a clip *that* much, I'd probably rather buy it forever. Just the way my head works.

that's a price for a whole movie on ""dvd"" something you could hold in your hands & not a virtual "stream byte"
1 clip for $30 may not be a bargain, but it's not a bad deal compared to the normal rate for clips you use a lot. This way I can buy a few staple clips to watch anytime I want and save the fresh content for those days I'm feeling like wasting some cash. Hell, I'll probably just end up buying a clip a week and amassing myself a little online library. While I haven't bought a realtouch yet and can't comment on how it might change things up, at the moment I tend to take things slow and watch a video for 15-20 minutes in a single session, so it's a pretty cost effective way to go about things if I'm going to be using it pretty frequently.
Still don't know when I'll get to buying one, but now I know I definitely will.
New features work well - I played with a couple of them tonight.
The free use option actually surprised me. Feels like a nice very slow tease. I only played with it a couple minutes, but it is something I'm sure I'll want to run through sometime reading erotica or looking at artwork (I like yaoi/hentai lol) or watching my own porn. I would imagine it gets old fairly quickly, but then I suppose that's the case with any video. Still hoping there's software for some customization/switching up eventually, but it's not the end of the world for me if there isn't.
Played with my bought clips tonight (bought two - the two available for my very favorite star). Even though I'm not particularly worried about minutes when I'm using it by-the-minute (I don't use RealTouch everyday - just when I'm feeling extra frisky and for 15 or 25 minutes at a time max I'd say), it *is* pretty nice to kick back knowing you don't have to worry about it AT ALL. I find myself able to enjoy the product much more leisurely, replay parts of clips, and just mess around in general more. Pretty cool. I'll still use per minute when I want something new and different, but I like that these staples will always be available from now on.
As for this being the same price as a whole DVD, if you're talking adult movies, most of the feature-length ones I've browsed before are more like $40 to $50, so it's still more expensive than this, at least in a lot of cases. Yes, there's more movie, but it's not interactive either. I actually think $29.95 for a decent length clip isn't too bad. I do agree with sluggy that the shorter clips should be cheaper, though. *shrugs* As far as the physical DVD I can hold in my hand, personally I don't need more stuff to store - digital works for me just fine. Different strokes for different folks. You can't please everyone all the time - I'm just glad RealTouch has given us these different options.
Like I said before, no matter what you do, they will still complain.
