Thank you for outlining all of that for us Speakerz.

Personally, I can't stand Glenn Beck and his fear-mongering, but that's just me. You've got to admit, your posts do ring of the same tone.

Honestly, I know absolutely nothing about businesses, shell corporations, etc. My background, and current employment, is in virology and molecular biology, which is why I took issue with your suggestions about the redistribution of potentially contaminated devices without any evidence. Since I've taken many, and taught a few, training seminars on BBP's, I felt that the picture you were painting was a bit beyond what I could stomach without prodding you for the evidence. I'm glad you've admitted you don't have any evidence to that effect and if you'd like to continue to question Real Touch/AEBN on whatever business-related grounds, more power to ya. All I ask is that you try not to start a panic without at least providing proof. Insinuating something as disturbing and potentially damaging as equating a product to used needles and then saying "I have no proof, but their business model is suspicious" isn't justification, I would wager to say it would classify as "libel per se", meaning all the plaintiff would have to do is prove you posted the statements (which it seemed is what you were originally after Real Touch/AEBN to do on these boards). I'm fairly certain that North Carolina is one of the states that has a criminal libel law on the books, though I'm not much of a lawyer so I'd just suggest that you tread softly when it comes to defamation like that, just to be safe.

Now, I wouldn't be surprised if a company doing adult-themed business in the bible-belt had to do some legal/corporate juggling to avoid local narrow-minded prejudice. Perhaps that's what you're seeing. I don't know. Like I said before, if things go to hell in a hand basket and the company folds, you'll be entitled to all of the I told ya so's that you'd want. In the meantime, I still say it's an awesome product and I hope whoever is in charge keeps it up.
Actually...

I loathe Glenn Beck. Just thought I'd play into the fear-mongering role you were establishing for me.

I wasn't even the person that initially brought up returns and health issues here on this site. And it was the company themselves that came here and stated that they inspect the returned devices and that they destroy them. I just wanted to know how. I'm not sure why that's such a horrible question.

I also never stated the company was refurbishing units. I presented a hypothetical situation regarding the needles as an example of responsibility and transparency. I was not trying in any way to start a panic. I was asking questions intended to make people think for themselves. Likely all of these people here love their RTs and it wouldn't matter what I said. Anyone who would stick their penis in a mechanical device controlled by a remote server file probably doesn't panic or scare very easy. LOL.

I honestly don't think they are refurbishing units. But taking and inspecting returns sounds very unsanitary. There is a reason that stores don't accept returns on toilet seats and the like. It's just opening the door for potential problems. They could make life for themselves and the safety of anyone that might come into contact with these things much easier if they just made all sales final or just had people take and submit photos of damaged units in order to get a replacement. That was the only point I was trying to make regarding RT, besides honesty and transparency.

That said, I get your point. I will cool it on the RT. I will also go back and read my earlier statements and ammend them where they might appear inflammatory. That was not my intent. Sometimes people just have a habit of accepting what businesses tell us about their products without doing due diligence. I just would encourage everyone to do that for any product you buy, especially one with a big price tag and/or involves your safety.

My biggest concern is that IF there are problems with the device that the company can't or won't address that people may not have any legal recourse due to the business entity issues I described. That would be extremely unfortunate.

As I asserted earlier, it seems like I'm not the only one concerned about the health issues surrounding the return and handling of these devices...

First off, why would you be concerned? Are you going to handle other peoples RealTouch? You just seem like a person who likes to be a devil’s advocate and a pain in the butt. I think you need a life. You were that little snot nosed kid always trying to be the big man by telling or trying to look like the one who saved the day. We have some of you were I work too. Well had. If you are really having issues with return policy, then when yours breaks, keep it. Grow up! If there are OSHA issues it will be handled by OSHA from an employee’s complaint or inspection. Not from a piece like you. I am sure you think that you are the savior of the working man and the country.
I will not answer anything this mental midget may reply to. I have said my piece and am done.

IDIOT
Thanks for the reply. And thanks for signing it with your proper name/self-description, IDIOT. Keeps me from having to say it.

Not surprised at the response, again from someone who likely gets paid to spew the company line. And I am sure they are not done as stated. A reply may not come from the same screename but it will come from some other company drone and will no doubt contain more excuses for company dishonesty and evasiveness. Some companies are just never going to just consumers get information from different sources and make their own evaluations.

Hope the place where you work has management that cares more about the health and safety of its employees than a company that exposes its employees to potentially fatal pathogens and that they care more about your life than their own bottom line.

By the way, there is no 'IF' there are issues, there ARE issues as evidenced by the report.

My concern is valid. If OSHA has cited the company for mishandling of the devices in the very same location that replacement devices are being shipped from, there may be a possibility of cross-contamination if the same employees handling the devices have been packaging and shipping out replacement devices. I would just think that a company that cared about its employees and its customers would want to do everything they possibly could to insure there were no such potential dangers.

Thanks for the laymen's psych evaluation. You're right when you say I want to save people. I know its rare to find people that think about someone other than themselves. I'd much rather be known for trying to save the day and root for the little guy than for going after money at all costs.
