This is totally unofficial as of right now....but I can tell you that we have been hearing your complaints. The biggest being the current buying model of content. That being said we are open to the idea of doing rentals such as...
Ownership- set price per clip and you get to own the clip for as long as you want (the only issue being if a studio has to pull it down for legal/contract reasons). You couldn't download the file and store it locally but to view the clip it would only cost you one price, and then you could watch it as much as you want.
Rental- Keep the clip and watch it as much as you want for a week at a time...if you don't feel like spending the money to "buy" a clip.
Pay Per Minute- This model would still be there, so you could buy a package and watch when you want, or be able to "sample" a whole clip in order to buy it.
Membership- How about paying a monthly fee to get "tracks" with no video just making the device work and can be played as much as you want? Again this would require a internet connection, but the membership fee would be low (10$ range?) and it would be unlimited.
So ideas? What do you guys think?
Cool! Along with the current per-minute fee (which I still would use), I think the two out of what you list I'd actually use are:
Membership - this is a cool idea! I like it because it would expand use of RealTouch to things like erotic stories or any other form of porn I want to watch besides featured content. Currently I do find I tend to use RealTouch the most when I see new content that I really want to watch.
Ownership - I like the idea of getting to own clips for the life of the product, especially for those that happen to be my favorites. Personally I'd really like to see whole movies/porn titles encoded eventually.
BTW, hope the product is doing well - it really is a fantastic unit IMO!

Again from an unofficial point of view...I see this happening. Right now it is just soooo much work encoding content. it takes an 8 hour day to do a "normal" clip. Soon enough we will get some new software and as we create more and more technology it will take less and less time.
I like the idea of combining PPM with clip ownership. Even if the price for ownership were relatively high (it's obvious that there is a lot of work put into them) I would jump on the chance to "permanently rent" favorite clips. I'd still use PPM a lot for finding new favorite clips, and for trying out new videos when they are posted.
Even without ownership, I the rent-for-a-week or rent-for-a-month idea
is also superb.
It's great that these possibilities are being explored.
You guys could even have some cool limited-time promotional deals, like "Jenna Haze clip 6-pack is 10% off" or something like that. It might draw people to check out new videos that they wouldn't have otherwise previewed.
Today, I received my replacement unit and everything is working perfectly.
This is one LOYAL customer and I will be proud to tell this to everyone ythat I know.

I am not sure why we should not be able to download and keep a local copy, since the encoded video will only work for a specific Device ID. That video would not work on any other Real Touch, no matter who got a copy.
Personally, unless you want to accept virtual money for a virtual product, I rather expect to receive something that I own in exchange.

Like the ownership idea the best, as long as the pricing is reasonable. Perhaps in the rare case that a studio does have to pull down a video, maybe you guys can offer like a 50% refund on the value of the purchase or something like that? Not sure what your licensing costs are so that may be entirely impossible.
I have mixed feelings about the rental idea, again it really depends on cost, on one hand I feel like I would be pressured to get as much use out of it over the one week or whatever amount of time, on the other hand I think it would be a good alternative to the $10 a month membership, which sounds like a good option as well.
The pricing between the rental and membership option would really dictate my decision.
Ultimately the more options you are able to have the more people you will be able to please. I can see myself using all the above options, depending on the circumstance, and pricing.
Not really sure what you mean by the pay per minute and sampling, can you elaborate how it's different from what we have now?

Yeah, I can understand it takes a LOT of time to encode currently, but hopefully in the future as things get easier, it'll happen. =) I do notice the content is growing slowly but surely, and most of the videos I've tried have great encoding. A few requests I made have been added also. Overall, I think you guys are doing a great job, and it's nice to know there will hopefully be more options and flexibility in the future!
This is great news. The more buying options available to the consumer the better, and all of the ones mentioned sound good. I think RealTouch sales will go through the roof once this is official.
It's good to think also that our complaints on this board may have played a part in this.
Incidently, the one thing I liked about Roxxy Robot was the idea of having a 'community of owners' who could do things like swap its personalities and suchlike. With the monthly subscription option for RealTouch you could have the potential to offer some extra incentives on top of having the right to view videos without cap each month, at the same time as building a loyal RealTouch community.
I think that all of the options are good. If each is used it can fill most everyones ideal. I like the monthly, the videoless function as well as the purchase. I understand why we can not have the videos on our computer. For those who dont know, the server must talk talk to the tower and visa versa to function. To do it without would require lots of work and money to change the whole system. Although it would be nice to not worry about realTouch failing and still being able to use it....until it breaks anyway. These options should insure success. More options are always good for marketing and sales. Looking forward to them.

some countries in Europe have limitations on broadband traffic!
all this streaming concept would fail in this countries!
