Ownership- set price per clip and you get to own the clip for as long as you want (the only issue being if a studio has to pull it down for legal/contract reasons). Anything that allows ownership of content to use any time is a no-brainer. If you want to appeal to the large base currently turned off by the pay-per minute only model, then do this. If you don't, they'll never become customers and you miss out on a lot of potential money.

Just consider that the Doll Forum is filled with people spending fortunes (even their life savings) on sex toys and dolls an they won't go near the Real Touch because of the current pay-per minute only structure. That should tell you a lot about why this as the only model is not the best idea. I mean, when people with deep pockets who love buying sex toys on a regular basis are turned off, it's a pretty big self examination-time indicator that a change is needed.

You have a great product. Add ownership and you will own this market and become the undisputed trailblazer very quickly, and the prospect of coding discs for large porn releases is something that would take consumers by storm.

at naughtyamerica, bangbros & all the other studios...! you'll have a monthly membership & still can download the content

that's what they did wrong at realtouch & that's why there will be poor market for a few people! if they create content discs... they will sell thousands of units!
but they 've said at realtouch: dowloading content would give problems with if a studio has to pull it down for legal/contract reasons)
WELL REALTOUCH, CREATE YOUR OWN CONTENT DISC, RENT A PORNSTAR TO CREATE A REALTOUCH DISC, & PROBLEM SOLVED!
START WITH ONE DISC TO TRY IT OUT & YOU WOULD SEE... A lot OF DISCS SHOULD BE NEEDED AS IT SELL LIKE HELL!

what about the Pay Per Minute system, well they can do this:
they can create private rooms with a girly realtouch & a boys realtouch & give some realtime interactive shows!
but the above improvements listed at the moment is still not what the most people want! it's a new step in good direction, but not good enough to make this product for a big market

On the other hand, there are people out there like me who have no problem forking over money for RealTouch "as I go", but could probably never actually justify the purchase of something like a RealDoll even though they're cool (maybe if I won the lottery or something lol). So it *does* go both ways. You're going to find people in *every* market that will only do things one way or choose certain types of products, and other people who do it the exact opposite way - neither are necessarily right. IE, people who will only buy music on CD's vs. people who buy all their content digitally vs. people who won't pay for legal music at all.

To me, spending money on RealTouch makes 1000 times more sense than on a RealDoll. Consider a $7K RealDoll (which I think is conservative). That's about 227 hours of RealTouch enjoyment (minus the cost of lube, which I didn't figure lol). ^.^

While I'd love to see download-to-own content or even disc content and hope it materializes, I have to say I really personally have no problem with the current model, especially with the enhancements they're talking about that should allow some content ownership and use of the device without ongoing charges.

I also suspect the market for a device like this isn't as small as you're supposing. Basically, I think most people okay with paying for "regular" VOD will be okay with RealTouch, while those who won't do VOD at all won't be. *shrugs* I might be mistaken on that, but that's my feeling.

The reason I like VOD is the huge libraries of content possible (so endless variety). RealTouch isn't quite there yet (at least compared to regular VOD sites), but they're slowly but surely getting there.

dancer, as to the rent pornstar and make discs themselves idea, I'm not sure if AEBN is even in position to make their own porn and do it well. Even if they were, this would take time, certain stars people want to see might not be available, etc. And it would be an expensive prospect with a questionable amount of increased profit for the costs incurred. Many of us prefer downloading content to discs these days, and while I'm sure many still prefer discs, a cost analysis would need to be done of the target market. I *might* purchase a disc, but only if it was something I really wanted to see with my favorite porn star or something. In general, I probably wouldn't and would stick with VOD.

I do like the live webcams idea, but webcams have their place. They're fun, but I have to be in a certain mood and can't say I like them as well as regular porn all the time. That said, I still want to see my favorite porn movies encoded! Movies *not* produced by AEBN already in existence with stars I want to see (some seemingly retired).

so we also can use this toy, without an internet connection!
think they better start some own realtouch content, or made a good deal with some studio around to offer realtouch content!

Webcams have always been in the plans since day one. They will be coming..just lot's of R&D behind that.

As for Dancer, well sometimes you just can't break through that guard they have up. Oh well, we understand and accept that some people will never be a customer. We are tying to find better ways to get them but sometimes it just is what it is.
