So maybe I'm not adventurous but I haven't really purchased a toy for myself before, mostly because the selection for men was pretty boring. I think every few months I check on qdot's slashdong (dont even know how I originally found it) to see whats going on in the creative end of the spectrum. I just saw a small quip about realtouch not sucking and googled it and ended up here.
Once I saw what it was, I was like, wow, finally someone made that. There is only so much porn you can watch to stay interested I guess, and for a while i had a phase where I was trying to 'follow along' with pov porn myself, which isn't too bad, but well here is a device that'll do it for you, and better.
I was pretty much instantly about to slam the purchase button for this until I saw the pay scheme. Bzzzt.
Even for unlimited purchase, you are still buying a stream. The fact that the device is dead until the server's flip it back on is ridiculous. You are pretty much buying a 200 dollar piece of scrap metal.
I honestly think that this product would only work if it met one or two conditions. One of those is the rock band model. Harmonix basically does what the encoders do following a movie. Harmonix, for 2 dollars, will give you 4 instrument parts, pretty artfully created to simulate how you'd play the song on regular instruments.
RealTouch, for 30 dollars, encodes, what, 2 belts, lube, and heat? I realize the volume of purchase in rock band is greater, and that might be why 5 dollars can work. But if you had clip purchases (ideally downloaded to your machine, but that is forgivable) for maybe 5 dollars each, I'd probably jump on the bandwagon here.
The other way this product could work, would be opening it up and giving people an encoding studio, whatever software is used by the encoders. That way let a person be able to create their own 'tracks' along the device to their own movies, even if you just start the script and the movie at the same time, that would at least make the device useful.
I see what they are going for here, and I admit I have no clue about the porn market in the US since we all keep it 'hushhush' here, so maybe the 30 price point makes it worth it for them to manufacture the device and pay a couple guys to bang out new tracks to their already existing content.
Either way, I'm writing this because basically I want this product, but man, still not worth it to drop 200 + 30 per clip to blow your load in a new creative way, would rather just get a lapdance at a strip club, much longer lasting memories
