After upgrading to Windows 7 (64 bit) this weekend, my RealTouch is no longer responding. It was working perfectly with Vista.

I installed Windows 7 Home Premium, if that is important to know.

The USB port is working fine and recognized by the new operating system, but the videos no longer control the device. The "warm up" cycle is behaving as usual.

Windows Media Player version 12 seems to not work with the RealTouch driver. While playing the video, WMP no longer displays the RealTouch dialog box which controls the lubrication.


Any ideas?
Hey Shunt, one thing we know is that the RealTouch plugin will not automatically enable with Win7. Also when installing the plugin you must select the "everyone" option instead of "just me" if you choose "just me" the RealTouch plugin does not work properly with WMP.

Because the plugin does not automatically enable, you have to enable it every time you use RealTouch. Also for some reason the dialog box with the control hides it's self the first time.

Just to clarify we are working on this problem. However right now it appears to be solely a WMP problem with 3rd party plugins.
Thanks for the rapid reply and knowing that you are working on this WMP Windows 7 problem. That just saved me many nights of pulling my hair out in frustration.

Question: How do you enable the RealTouch plugin with WMP? I have not been able to find any documentation on that procedure.
Same issue. I have a MacBook Pro that I run Vista on. Realtouch works fine on this. I took a step backwards (for some work I had to do using Windows), and bought a Dell running Windows 7. Realtouch will NOT work...despite following all the instructions provided. I even contacted the technical folks, they said to install Firefox -- which I did. Unfortunately, the NET will NOT install with Firefox....so basically YOU ARE SCREWED if you buy a Realtouch and expect a simple install with Windows 7. I cannot recommend anyone buying the system until this is fixed. If you do, you are on your own...as Realtouch certainly didn't give me a satisfactory response to installing the software. Very sad for such an expensive piece of equipment. Once again, no thanks to Microsoft or to anyone who wants to add anything to stuff they develop.

Works fine on my Windows 7. Do not know why you are having issues. I followed the info given. Also it is not usually Windows that is most to blame on new releases. It’s mostly driver issues from the software companies who respond petty quick to the new OS as the issues are reported.. The walk around that Realtouch gave about the network option worked great on mine. I have i7 pro 64bit. Also in 7 you can run programs that have driver issues in an XP like window. Read the docs.
One could also say that at least Microsoft allows others to develop software on their platform rather than they being the only choice you have. Why do you think it was made for windows first? Too many hoops to jump through to get it certified for Mac for only 10% market share. Until the costs are warranted.
Those instructions worked with my 64 bit Windows 7. Although I need to enable the plugin each time, that is a rather minor issue and should be fixed soon.

Once again, this is an outstanding product!
